In this role, you are responsible for the substantive success of asset management issues at clients.

In concrete terms, this means that you:

• Analyzes and helps optimize asset and maintenance processes
• Advising clients on their Asset Lifecycle Management strategy
• Retrieves business requirements and translates them into functional designs
• IBM Maximo implements, configures and optimizes IBM Maximo solutions
• Guides workshops, trainings and user sessions
• Supports customers in change and adoption processes
• Collaborates with technical consultants and project managers
• Actively contributes to knowledge sharing and improvement within LAMA

Who you are 

You are a consultant who is energized by complex processes and customer issues. You think analytically, communicate clearly and feel comfortable in a role in which you are both substantive and advisory.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:

• HBO or WO working and thinking level (e.g. Business Administration, IT, Industrial Engineering and Management)
• Experience as a Business Consultant, Functional Consultant or similar role
• Affinity with asset management and maintenance processes
• Knowledge of IBM Maximo is an advantage, or you are motivated to master it quickly
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good command of Dutch and English
• Willingness to work (internationally) at customers’ locations

About the position

As a Technical Consultant OpenShift & IBM Maximo Application Suite, you will be responsible for setting up, managing and further developing OpenShift clusters and IBM Maximo Application Suite environments on IBM Cloud.

You will work in a technical team that relieves customers in the field of platform and infrastructure management. This starts with provisioning and installation via Terraform and Ansible, and continues to the daily monitoring of logs, certificates, performance and availability.

Your impact is immediately visible: you ensure that critical business applications run stably, are set up securely and continue to meet the needs of the customer.

What will you do?

• Provisioning and configuring OpenShift clusters on IBM Cloud, including ROKS, through Terraform.
• Setting up operators, storage classes, networking and DTAP environments.
• Install and activate MAS Core, Maximo Manage and associated dependencies such as MongoDB, Kafka, Db2 and cert-manager via the IBM MAS Ansible Collection.
• Provision and manage security components such as RBAC, SSO/SAML/OIDC links, Azure AD integrations, TLS certificate management, and platform hardening in accordance with CIS/NIST baselines.
• Managing Db2 and MongoDB databases, including backup and restore, performance tuning, and certificate expiration monitoring.
• Configure and monitor monitoring, alerting and technical thresholds.
• Daily follow-up of OpenShift and application logs and proactive identification of technical risks.
• Performing patch and version management.
• Guiding changes through structured RFC processes.
• Escalate towards IBM and Red Hat as a technical point of contact on behalf of the customer.
• Prepare and maintain as-built documentation, runbooks, playbooks, and delivery documents in Confluence.
• Implement structural improvements in management, automation and deployment processes.

What makes this position perfect for you?

You are an independent engineer who likes to take technical responsibility over a broad platform landscape. You have demonstrable experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes and preferably also with IBM Maximo Application Suite.

Ansible and Terraform are not unfamiliar concepts to you. You know how to set up an environment in a safe, stable and manageable way. You work accurately, document your work well and proactively address disruptions before they become incidents.

In addition, you can easily communicate with customers, colleagues and suppliers such as IBM and Red Hat. You like to think along about how processes, monitoring and automation can be structurally improved.

What do you bring?

• Experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with IBM Cloud, preferably ROKS.
• Knowledge of IBM Maximo Application Suite is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Knowledge of platform management, monitoring, logging and certificate management.
• Experience with Db2, MongoDB, Kafka or similar platform components is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of security principles such as RBAC, SSO, TLS and platform hardening.
• Experience with change, incident and release processes.
• You work in a structured way and record technical choices well.
• You can work independently, but actively seek cooperation when necessary.
